Mission
Risk management without the spreadsheet headaches.
RiskRocket was created because small and medium-sized businesses need risk tools that are affordable, collaborative, and easy to use.
For many years, spreadsheets have ruled the roost when it comes to documenting and managing risks. There are many benefits in using these: they are free, nearly everyone knows how to use them, and they are a familiar way to present information to a business audience.
But spreadsheets have a number of significant limitations:
- They often rely on one person maintaining them, needing the maintainer to chase others to provide updates on risks and the actions taken to reduce them.
- It is challenging to maintain a history of a given risk and visualise how a risk has changed over time, with information being overwritten as things change.
- It is difficult to provide real-time visibility to stakeholders. Filters and column sorting can only go so far.
So we went looking for something better. A tool that could handle workflow, make collaboration and task assignment easier, and produce decent management information without the spreadsheet headaches.
Why we built RiskRocket
There were many risk tools available, but they all had their drawbacks:
- They're priced for big enterprises, not everyone else.
- They take too long to learn before you get any real value from them.
- They're bolted onto bigger GRC platforms, so risk management ends up as one feature among many, not the main event.
- They're not built around ISO 27001, a standard that has very specific ideas about how risk management should work.
So we built the tool ourselves.
To create a low cost, low complexity risk management tool that will allow users of all experience levels to identify and manage their information security risk.
